One should meditate upon the Supreme Person as the one who knows everything, as He who is the oldest, who is the controller, who is smaller than the smallest, who is the maintainer of everything, who is beyond all material conception, who is inconceivable, and who is always a person. He is luminous like the sun, and He is transcendental, beyond this material nature. (Bhagavad-gita 8.9)

The Sterile World of the Atheist   22.09.2010

“But now for many years I cannot endure to read a line of poetry: I have tried lately to read Shakespeare and found it so intolerably dull that it nauseated me. I have also almost lost my taste for pictures and music… The loss of these tastes is a loss of happiness, and may possibly be injurious to the intellect , and more probably to the moral character by enfeebling the emotional part of our nature.” Charles Darwin

When life is reduced to merely chemicals ,then the beauty in this world makes no sense. A vaisnava knows the beauty in this world to be the smile of Krsna.

as confirmed in Srimad Bhagavatam, What they call beautiful nature is but His smile, and what they call the
sweet songs of the birds are but specimens of the whispering voice of theLord. SB 1.11.26 purport.
or
SB 2.1.31: the most alluring illusory material energy is the smile of the universal form.

Kadamba Kanana Swami
