Vyasa-puja offering to Srila Prabhupada 2007

Dear Srila Prabhupada,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Your Divine Grace! All glories to your disciples, who have become wonderful instruments of Krishnas mercy!

With the passage of time, some of your disciples are leaving this world. We remember them for all the devotional service they did, out of love for you.

You conquered their hearts with your most magnanimous mood. You truly gave everything you had to make the whole world Krishna conscious or maybe the whole universe: ebe yasa ghusuk tribhuvana. Your fame is spread all over the three worlds. Or maybe you are now preaching in another universe. Who is with you now? Or are you in the spiritual world, surrounded by disciples and granddisciples in that other ISKCON, which you said we would have up there?

I am still here in this world, where in 1965 you crossed the Atlantic on the Jaladuta to start this movement and in the following twelve years circled the globe fourteen times. You are with me every day of my life, and now every day of the lives of many who never met you in person. You are the teacher by example. You have instilled faith in my heart that I may attain love of God one day. You are the kind and gentle, grandfatherly friend who is always there as my shelter. Yet simultaneously you are the stern, lionlike acharya from whom I hide and who in one glance exposes my false ego. But above all, I implicitly trust you!

At first I tried to avoid your movement by avoiding your devotees and your books. But I got the Gita as a gift. Then I could no longer ignore you, for you called out for complete surrender to the lotus feet of Krishna on every page of that book and showed it by your own example. By my connection with you, I see a miracle happening within myself: even I am becoming a devotee of Krishna.

In a Bhagavatam lecture you spoke about miracles:

Sometimes, you know, people say that I have done miracles. They say everywhere. But I do not know anything, miracles or magic. If there is any miracle, that miracle is that we present things as they are. Thats all. Without any adulteration. So that should be the principle. Present as it is. It will be accepted.
[Vrindavana, 22 October 1972]

All I can say in response to this is that it is a great relief to get the straight and simple truth in the mad and confused world we live in.

By your mercy I now so much relish chanting the holy name and distributing it all over the planet to people who are lost that it has become an addiction. I cannot stop. And yet another part of me wants to hide in a quiet corner and just read Srimad-Bhagavatam or Caitanya-caritamrita without end. Now I am in love with Krishnas Deity form and have become a beggar begging for a little service to His lotus feet.

I fall at your lotus feet, overwhelmed with gratitude, and ask you and your servants what I can do to repay all this inconceivable mercy.

Your servant,

Kadamba Kanana Swami
